Being a volunteer emergency responder is about one thing. It's not what you look like, what degree you have, or where you come from. It's about heart. If you've got the heart to serve this community in a way that few can, you've got everything we need.
Firefighting doesn't have to involve fire.
We have a job for everyone, From firefighters, driver/operators, EMT's and support personnel, everyone has a place. Volunteers are accepted from ages 14 and up. Did we mention your training is paid for? Ready to make a difference in your community?
Firefighters
Firefighters are trained to extinguish fires occurring in buildings, vehicles, outdoor brush fires and a variety of other situations.
Basic firefighter training consists of 188 hours of classroom and hands on training.
Driver/Operators
Driver/Operators are trained to drive and operate the equipment on fire trucks to get to emergency scenes.
Driver/Operator training consists of 48 Hours of classroom and hands on training and additional hands on training and testing for each vehicle to be driven.
EMT's
EMT's are trained to provide emergency medical care to sick and injured patients, and provide life saving intervention.
EMT Training consists of 200 hours of classroom and hands on training followed by a written and practical exam for state licensure.
Fire Police
Fire Police direct traffic and control crowds to keep emergency scenes safe
Fire police training consists of 32 hours of training.
Support Personnel
Support personnel can do a number of things from keeping track of firefighters and equipment, Fire scene photography, Maintenance of trucks and equipment, to providing canteen services at emergencies.
Rescue Technicians
Rescue technicians rescue trapped patients from vehicles, confined spaces, water, high angles, and anywhere else someone can get stuck.
Basic rescue training consists of 48 hours. Additional training is required for other disciplines of rescue (Water, Rope/High Angle, Trench, Confined Space, Special Vehicle, Structural Collapse, Search & Rescue) and can range from 16-85 hours each.
Social Members
Social members assist with fundraising, business management and general maintenance and upkeep around the firehouse.
Junior Firefighters
Junior firefighters are aged from 14-17 and learn about emergency services and observe on emergency scenes.
